Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to XploreBot, a product of Firefly IO ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our website and in using our products and services (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy explains how our applications, including the Xplore IDE, mobile applications on Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and the XploreBot website, handle your personal information.
2. Information Collection and Use
Personal Data
We only collect minimal personal information necessary to provide our Services. When you create an account, register your school, or make a purchase, we may collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, and physical address. We use this information to process orders, provide technical support, and communicate important service updates.
Device and Usage Data
Our applications (like the Xplore IDE and mobile apps) may require certain permissions to function properly:
- Bluetooth and USB Connections: Our apps require access to Bluetooth and USB to connect to and program the XploreBot programmable bricks. We do not use these connections to collect personal data; they are strictly used for sending and receiving code to your robotic devices.
- Local Storage: We may store your code projects locally on your device unless you choose to use our cloud-saving features.
3. Log Data and Cookies
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our website ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
We use cookies to improve your user experience, such as keeping you logged in. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your computer.
4. Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of children is especially important to us as an educational robotics company. Our Services are inherently designed for students, including children under the age of 13.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent local regulations. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental or educator consent. Accounts for students are typically created and managed by authorized educators, schools, or parents. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without proper consent, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.
5. Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Services;
- To provide the Services on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services (e.g., payment processing); or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Services are used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
6. Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
7. Links to Other Sites
Our Services may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
